About the event
The Lavenham Sinfonia are delighted to present a musical journey from Gloucestershire to Cambridge all within the historic setting of the amazing Lavenham Church. Local singer Mark Saberton returns to perform Vaughan Williams' Songs of Travel. The orchestra will also perform a rarely heard piece by one of England's 'lost generation' of composers - Ivor Gurney's Gloucestershire Rhapsody. It's a beautifully evocative work with influences of Elgar, Vaughan Williams and echoes of Butterworth. The concert ends with a performance of Parry's Symphony No. 2 - Cambridge.
